Thursday raid night.
As always,
We promptly formed raid,
Entered Greenscale,
Danced Naked
and went over the details of our plan...
Overachieving, indeed!
Little did we know...
Opportunity was about to meet preparation, in grand style!
But I digress, Lets start at the beginning...
We began clearing the trash and for some reason,
this felt news worthy! haha
With Trash cleared and Zavihs untree'd & reunited with the raid,
Time to get our kill on!
First Up - Duke Latereus
err, First Down - might be more appropriate.

and btw, an "achievement" was also earned..

Arguably one of the easiest Events in the Zone...
at least, on most nights!
We moved in, kiting one, tanking one, killing both,
everyone paying close attention to necrotic energy...
well, alllmost everyone!
At least when Cressida blew us up last week it was due to a "bug!"
Well, it seems our leaders are taking turns!

- Prince Hylas -
I think this is the mob we all felt would slow our progression
through the zone tonight as we made several attempts at him.
But that was not to be!
We did have a couple of resets due to bad RNG on healers
but it truly wasnt long before Prince Hylas was face down
(always a mean girl in the crowd!)
and giving up his pretties!
_____________________And now we come to the highlight of the entire night...
Time to meet again with Lord Greenscale!
(dragon undies?!)
After spending all of Monday nights raid trying to refine our strat
& coming within 16% of a win,
We felt confident we'd master this event before too long.
Last night, we had a couple of hours left in the raid to throw at LGS.
We planned to make the most of it!
First attempt actually went really well.
We had very few deaths through the first 3 phases,
even with a couple of new people on the raid.
We reached phase 4 on our first attempt,
but as can easily happen, we were overwhelmed by plants & wisps
2nd attempt:
Phases 1 through 3 gave us only 1 death
Transitions were the smoothest they've been
At this point, I have to give a big shout-out to Grudge,
who tanked Greenscale like a true pro!
He moved the dragon around the lair allowing the raid enough room to move through plants.
The typical chaos of phase 4 was controlled measurably
thanks in no small part to Cyprians expert plant-removal.
and on our 2nd attempt of the night,
the mighty Lord Greenscale fell!
Needless to say, this was a VERY exciting win for <Vanguard> !!
Congrats to Zalinian on the guilds first Relic weapon!
Congrats also to Kenjin on chest, Nana on Epic piece + Leggings and Cyprian on Ring.
Just to give a bit of perspective.
<Vanguard> was, for all intents and purposes, formed at the end of last month.
April was spent recruiting talent & gearing up in T1's and T2's while getting to know our guildmates.
We raid 2 nights a week for 4 hours, and entered Greenscale's Blight on April 9th,
a mere 20 days ago... that means 7 raids in GS, with 1 full night spent learning Prince Hylas
and 1 full night given to learning the Lord Greenscale event.
Last night, we cleared the zone from Duke to Lord with never more than 2 attempts on any one boss.
There is much to be proud of in coming so far, so fast.
